Into the Corsican Moonshine Night

Born in the Appalachians. Distilled in the maquis

An acte of resistance,…
During Prohibition, men distilled on full moon nights in the mountains of the Appalachians. Distilling was their way of inhabiting the land and turning what they had into something real. Botanicals, spring water, a makeshift still. And the darkness to work in secret. We found that beautiful — and it made us want to pay tribute to them, one full moon night, in Corsica.

From the Appalachian highlands to the Corsican shepherds.
These two peoples know the deep valleys that governments never quite reach. They both live by resourcefulness and simplicity. Their relationship with the mountain comes from their parents and their grandparents. And with them, we share the conviction that making something with your own hands is always better than buying it.
The night of mai 31, 2026
A blue moon — a rare phenomenon we weren't about to miss. In the spirit of those moonshiners, we took the shepherd's paths and harvested before nightfall :
— Fig leaves, lentisk, myrtle — First eglantine and immortelle flowers — The last elderflowers of the season
What it gives in the glass
Nose : resinous maquis, fig leaf, white blossom. Palate : the roundness of the marc, the freshness of the botanicals, a liveliness we hadn't quite anticipated. Finish : long, slightly spiced — with the immortelle lingering. As it always does.
A borderland spirit. Between marc and gin, between two seasons, between two continents. Between the Appalachian night and the maquis.
